How To Make Smoothie Bowl: Pretty and Healthy

OK here comes my favorite smoothie bowl, pretty, healthy. Especially here in Indonesia, is it become popular lately? Well, I've been making it since few years ago, as I am into vegan food and healthy stuffs. It was when I couldn't get superfood easily as today, I used to get it from iherb. One of my fav place to shop nuts, seeds, and some other healthy ingredients is Club Sehat, you can check their website for online shopping or visit their stores in Jakarta, Semarang, Surabaya, and Bali, check the address, here. Tools:
High speed blender such as Vitamix and Blendtec. Basically, you can use any blender but why high speed blender better? Because you don't want to process your fruits & veggies for quite long time, the faster the better. I own a Cuisinart blender, it works great, and still affordable, but anyway I still want a Vitamix, someday. Anyway, you can also use a food processor, even better for making one ingredient banana ice cream.
The Base:
Frozen banana, frozen ripe mango, frozen berries, frozen grapes, avocado, pineapple, soursop,
Liquid:
water, citrus juice (lemon, lime, orange), coconut water, homemade coyo (coconut yogurt) find out how to make it, here.
Veggies:
kale, baby spinach, horenso, romaine lettuce
Superfood:
spirulina, maca powder, ground flax seed, carob powder, chia seeds, acai
Toppings:
fresh fruits, granola, muesli, raisins, goji berry, dried coconut flakes, toasted sliced almond, seeds (pumpkin, chia, sunflower seeds)
The idea is to combine sweet and sour fruits, adding some leafy greens can be an option. Here are some of my favorites:
- frozen banana + strawberry
- frozen mango + coyo + coconut nectar
- frozen banana + blueberry + lemon juice
- frozen banana + kale + pineapple + lemon juice
- pineapple + frozen banana + sea salt
- pink guava + strawberry
- frozen grapes + horenso + coconut water
Why using frozen fruits? I like my smoothie cold, plus the thick consistency makes it easier to arrange the toppings. Anyway, you can also make vegan ice cream, using only frozen banana. You can use high speed blender or a food processor. Personally I like it with peanut butter, so good! It also works with almond or cashew butter.
